Many American men give up on the idea of having a wife or serious girlfriend who is a lot younger than they are.  It’s similar in Canada and many Western European countries.
In my experience and research, American girls, Canadian girls, and many Western European girls in their 20’s and 30’s have little interest in men who are a lot older than they are.  Sure, maybe if you’re 5 years older, okay…usually the maximum seems to be about 8 years older…unless maybe you’re a movie star, a rock star, a professional athlete, or filthy rich.  For regular guys like you and me, usually they won’t give you the time of day if you’re 15 or 20 or 25 years older: “Ewww, you’re old enough to be my dad!”

In certain Latin countries such as Colombia and Brazil, you’ll usually find a much different attitude.  In Colombia, Brazil,  and a few other spots, a large number of the ladies actually PREFER an older man…and “older” often means 15 or 20 or 25 years older!  Why?  Because in their country, men their own age often don’t have the maturity and stability they’re looking for in their man.  (In other parts of this Website, I explain in more detail what the realistic expectations often are as to age difference.)
For example, Vicky, who was 25 years old when I first met her on the Internet (just short of her 26th birthday), wrote in her Internet profile that she was seeking a man between 32 years old and 52 years old.  I was 48 at the time…perfect!

I BEGIN MY JOURNEY OVER THE INTERNET LOOKING IN RUSSIA AND ROMANIA.

After a very brief Internet experience looking in America and not finding the lady I was looking for, I began my journey in earnest looking in Russia and Romania.  Russia and Romania, of course, are both in Eastern Europe.  I used some different Websites in my search.  I communicated with several Russian and Romanian women from a distance.
I was sincere and earnest in my search, but some of the Russian women I communicated with apparently were not honest nor sincere.  I sent money to some of the Russian women before meeting them in person…bad mistake…you can be the most sincere guy on earth, but if the girl is out to rip you off you might find your heart broken like mine was a few times with Russian women over the Internet.  Not to mention your wallet lightened a bit if you make the mistake like I did of sending money to a woman you’ve never met in person.
One Romanian girl (age 21 at that moment a few years ago) who I communicated with over the Internet turned out to be genuine!  Her name was Ana…I actually flew to Romania and met her in person.  I did not know for totally positively sure she was genuine until she actually arrived at my hotel room.  We spent a week together in hotels in Romania, in Bucharest (the capital) and in her home city (about 3 hours train ride from Bucharest) as well.  We shared some good times.
I’m not a very good dancer, but she wanted to go dancing nearly every night…and certainly I was up for the adventure…so out of about 7 nights I spent with her, we went dancing to electronic music about 5 of those nights…it was a rather interesting experience being 46 (at that time) and going dancing with my Internet love finally in person only 21 years old.

BUT 21 YEAR OLD ANA WAS NOT THE RIGHT GIRL FOR MARRIAGE

The idea I had of living with Ana for a week, aside from finally meeting her in person, was to test in an initial way many elements of chemistry and compatibility.  She spoke very good English, we had fun, but she didn’t have the patience and tranquility I was seeking for my significant other.  She sometimes shouted at me in anger over trivial matters, and I couldn’t picture myself content for the rest of my life with her. Ana lied to me on the significant issue (to me) of smoking.  Over the Internet BEFORE I met her in person, she told me she’s a non-smoker…when I finally met her in person, she smoked fairly regularly right in front of me.  Ugh! So, the fact that she smoked was a deal-breaker for me…but aside from that, she LIED about it…making me think, obviously, that if she was willing to lie about something so easily verified in person, what other things would she lie to me about if I spent the rest of my life with her?
After I spent the week with Ana in Romania, we communicated by telephone and e-mail for several weeks afterwards…but on discussions about some key relationship issues and building a possible life together, we had some significant disagreements.
Ana still wanted to marry me…but I, John, broke off the relationship, wishing her well in her life, and resumed my search for my younger wife…

I TRAVEL TO RUSSIA TO MEET JENYA

Next in my search for my younger wife was Russia.  For some time, I developed Internet romances with a few different Russian girls…sent money to some of them…bad mistake…don’t make the same mistake I did of sending money to a girl you’ve never met in person…finally, I decided to travel to Russia to meet lovely Jenya.
Jenya was 28 years old at the time, and stunningly beautiful in photos.  Of course, it may have all been fake for all I know…because when I finally said I had booked my airline tickets and visa for Russia, she panicked and told me not to arrive…but I wanted to learn if it was for real or not…so I decided to go in person to St. Petersburg, Russia (St. Petersburg is Russia’s second-largest city after Moscow, located in the northwest part of Russia close to Finland and Estonia).  If you decide to meet me, John, personally in Colombia to use our in-person, deluxe service to find Your Latin Dream Girl, I’ll be glad to show you the Russian entry and exit stamps in my passport.
I contacted her by Internet after I arrived at my St. Petersburg, Russia, hotel…she gave all kinds of excuses about why she couldn’t meet me at ANY hour of the morning, afternoon, evening, or night…what nonsense…I travel halfway around the world to meet a girl, and she is a no-show…broke my heart to some extent, because I really thought that possibly she might make an excellent wife for me…so, what did I do?

I HAVE 2 REAL-LIFE DATES WITH 27 YEAR OLD IRINA

After Jenya was a no-show, I had a week of time available in Russia, so I decided to take advantage of the opportunity.  I went in person to a local dating agency and made a date with (then) 27 year old Irina…quite lovely…she spoke little English and I speak only about 20 words of Russian, so most of the time on our 2 dates I hired a 50 year old translator lady to accompany us.
I had 2 dates with Irina of about 8 hours each, daytime hours only, and accompanied for most of the 16 hours total dating time by the 50 year old translator lady.
It showed some promise…through the translator we discussed many complex relationship preferences of Irina and me…
After I left Russia, Irina and I continued to communicate by e-mail…she needed to use a translator on her end to translate my English-language e-mails to Russian so she could understand me, and to reply to me in English via e-mail.  I paid the relatively small sums of money to her via Western Union to pay her translator…no problem here…50 bucks or so 2 or 3 times, and I knew she was a genuine girl because I had already met her in person in Russia.
This relationship had some potential, but I felt like it didn’t have the chemistry I was seeking in my wife, so we ended up not writing to each other anymore.  No hard feelings or anything…just that I felt that the chemistry wasn’t quite there.

I CHANGE MY SEARCH TO LATIN AMERICA

Then I made a change.  I felt that I was running into too much dishonesty about money and other issues in Russia and Romania…so I decided to try Latin America.  I speak good Spanish, to this was a logical next step for me in my search for my lovely younger wife.
I felt optimistic about this…I felt that my lovely Latin Dream Girl was waiting for me, and all I needed to was to find her……Because I had previously travelled in my life to much of Latin America, read a lot on the Internet about Colombian girls and Brazilian girls, and this was very plausible to me.

I MEET LOVELY 24 YEAR OLD MAGDA SOFIA

I used an Internet Latin Dating Service and found lovely 24 year old Magda Sofia.  She was 24 years old at the time, and I was 48 years old (she was a bit shy of her 25th birthday).  We spoke several times by international telephone calls between America and Colombia.  We agreed in e-mails and by phone to meet in the capital city of Bogota at a hotel.
Magda Sofia had done some modeling work during her teenage years and early 20’s, so obviously she was a very attractive girl…she was also intelligent, with a college degree in systems engineering.
I hopped on an airplane to the capital city of Bogota, Colombia.  When I got to my hotel, I phoned her to tell her I had arrived in the country.  We made a date for 3 days later that I would fly to the city she was living in at the time, Cali, and meet her at the airport, and immediately catch a return flight to my Bogota hotel travelling together with her on the airplane.
